Ident - Redesign

Ident Beratung & Handel is a company specialising in grinding and polishing processes in the automotive sector: they not only offer you a wide range of polishing products, polishing pads and abrasives, but also detailed and competent advice.
The project covered many design tasks over a longer period of time. The greatest assignment was the redesign of the website, which was accompanied by a rebranding of the corporate identity.

Challenge

The challenge was to analyse the previous website and redesign it to suit the company better. The website was supposed to be created in the form of a landing page, which would present all the important information in a condensed form. In addition, there was no suitable image material available, which is why this also had to be made from scratch through digital photography.

Design Problem

How can thedesignof a new landing page support the company's online communication?

The previous website was analysed and tested first. For this purpose, the homepage and each subpage were examined in detail.

Previous Webdesign Analysis

The old website felt outdated and disorganised. The use of images did not relate to the company or the context and the navigation and user experience were not clear enough.

Key Findings

The new website required a modern look and a smooth user experience. In addition, it was not necessary to display information on many subpages, as this would only lead to a more complex and confusing structure. The company's visual language also needed to be renewed and adapted.

After analysing the current situation, it quickly became clear what the following steps would be. The most time-consuming task was to produce the visual material. For this purpose, it was decided to create digital 3D models corresponding to the company, which could then be used to create digital images.
In addition, the first wireframes of the website were created.

3D Design

The 3D modelling was mainly focused on industrial machines and products of the company. These are grinding robots and surface treatment products. Such products include abrasives and polishing sponges. Especially these items posed a challenge in the rendering process, as the material has a high number of fibres and transparency.

For the redesign of the website, the corporate identity also had to be changed and improved. New fonts and matching colours were selected for this purpose. In addition, a new logo was developed.

Corporate Identity

The new visual language of the company was supposed to be modern and confidential. The colours were adapted accordingly. The logo became minimalistic and modern.

The result was a modern landing page that presents all the necessary information clearly and in a simple way. The website was also adapted for mobile devices.
